Key Insights

India's Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) market is projected to reach $136.548 billion by 2025, with a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 4.71% during the forecast period (2025-2033). This growth is propelled by increasing urbanization, rising disposable incomes, and government initiatives promoting clean cooking solutions. Demand is strongest in residential and commercial sectors, driven by a growing middle class and a booming hospitality industry. While industrial applications and automotive fuels are significant, their expansion is anticipated to be slower than the residential segment. LPG is primarily sourced from crude oil and natural gas liquids, with a potential shift towards the latter due to sustainability and crude oil price volatility. Market expansion may face constraints from fluctuating global oil prices, supply chain vulnerabilities, and infrastructure development needs, particularly in rural areas. Key market participants include Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, and Shell plc, who compete on pricing, distribution reach, and brand equity.
